Philadelphia Building Contractor Charged with Murder & Manslaughter

A building contractor in Philadelphia was charged today with murder and manslaughter from a deadly building collapse in June 5, 2013, leaving six people dead.

Griffin T. Campbell is the building contractor that faces six counts of 3rd degree murder, 13 counts of recklessly endangering another person, and six counts of involuntary manslaughter. The crane operator, Sean Benschop, has also been charged with involuntary manslaughter, 13 counts of recklessly endangering another person, and one count of risking a catastrophe because officials found marijuana and pain medication in his system.

Benschop was allegedly running the crane that was tearing down a vacant building when a 4 story wall collapsed onto a thrift store.
