One of the most important factors in securing a building is the installation of an appropriate lock system. Many legal claims regarding personal assault, property damage, and premises liability have been the result of inappropriate or malfunctioning locks and door hardware. Invasions and attacks can be countered by proper installation of specialized hardware and overt security systems.

Mike Panish is a licensed door, lock, and security equipment hardware contractor, and has been retained as expert witness on numerous cases involving everything from assault, rape, and murder to property damage and theft. Mike was the Plaintiff's retained expert witness on several cases leading to landmark awards by juries, and through his courtroom testimony it was proven that the doors, locks, and security systems in place were insufficient to properly protect the occupants that led to assault and rape. Mike has been the retained expert for the Defense on cases where claims have been made against lock manufacturers. He has consulted, evaluated and provided expert opinion on the condition and choice of appropriate hardware in several cases pertaining to safety and assault.
